In the heart of Tuscany there is a jewel of incomparable beauty: le
Chianti hills. Here, in the early 1960s, seventeen farmers gathered to give voice to the Tuscan countryside and to revive the local economy. Thus was born, in the shade of a farmhouse, an adventure destined to write the history of Tuscan wine: the Farmers of Geographical Chianti. From the year of its foundation until today, its growers have always spent themselves to protect the ancient art of tradition and to enhance the excellence of the territory. The new course, traced by the Piccini family, unfolds through the historic Sienese denominations such as Chianti Classico, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, wines of great fame to which are added the more recent Super Tuscans. Even in the vineyard, the path is traced: thanks to the enthusiasm of the young technical director Alessandro Barabesi, the Piccini family is committed to strengthening the community of winemakers that has gravitated around the Agricoltori del Geografico for decades. Through a delicate valorisation process, the historic Tuscan wine brand is experiencing a second youth, strengthened by an innovative approach that does not
forget the origins and the taste of tradition.

The family and history
After the first years of running in, the Geographic began to achieve its first successes, attracting the attention of other farmers who joined the cause. The impressive levels reached by the production made it necessary, in 1970, to build the historic cellar of
Gaiole in Chianti. In the meantime, the Geografico expanded its dense commercial network like wildfire, to the point of being able to boast a solid presence abroad as well. On the wave of unstoppable success, the wine reality prospered until it carved out a place of honor in the Tuscan wine horizon. The turnover grew visibly: in 1989 the San Gimignano winery also entered the orbit of the Agricoltori del Geografico. Finally, in recent years, the Geografico has returned to the limelight thanks to the Piccini family, which since 2018 has linked its fate to that of the historic Tuscan brand.
