CALIFORNIA
California has a very recent winemaking history compared to the European one, but today it is considered among the most interesting production areas in the world. More than 90 % of the wine in the United States of America is produced in California.
Apart from Zinfandel , a close relative of Primitivo , the grapes used in Californian wines are mostly international, such as Cabernet Sauvignon , Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Pinot Noir, etc.
