The eight hectares that make up the company are located in a particularly happy hilly position, 380 meters above sea level, below the ancient Lanuvio, considered an area with a great winemaking tradition in the Castelli Romani area, between Lanuvio and Genzano, where the volcanic soil, the excellent exposure and the breeze from the nearby sea are essential elements for obtaining an excellent quality wine. As white berried grapes we find Falanghina, Fiano, Grechetto, Petit Manseng, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Trebbiano. Among the red ones instead the Cesanese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano.

The family and history
The winemaking tradition of the Cavalieri family has origins dating back to the second half of the last century. In fact, from a document drawn up on 10 September 1879, relating to the division of a "Vignato" land, we can see the family vocation that for five generations has been uninterruptedly dedicated to the cultivation of vines and the production of wine on the Montecagnolo farm. Our family personally takes care of every stage of processing by applying, in addition to the family experience, modern cellar techniques, such as the selection of the grapes, the white fermentation of the must, the control of the fermentation temperature, up to the bottling. thus guaranteeing quality and authenticity. In recent years, the wines of Lazio and especially of Castelli Romani are increasingly appreciated and recognized in Italy and abroad as quality wines. From 2004 to today we have participated in national and international competitions, receiving prestigious awards and reviews on the most authoritative guides.
