In Sicily , wine and vines have characterized history since the beginning. The vineyard area is among the most important in Italy, also because the territory also includes the Aeolian Islands and Pantelleria.
In Sicily both autochthonous vines and international grape varieties are grown. Among the most famous Sicilian red wines are Nero d'Avola , Nerello Mascalese , Frappato, Perricone, etc.
Among the white Sicilian wines are Inzolia , Grillo , Malvasia, Moscato di Noto, Catarratto, Passito di Pantelleria , etc.
