Vermentino di Sardegna, what kind of wine it is and how it goes well

The Vermentino , together with Cannonau, are certainly the best known wines of Sardinia. Sardinian Vermentino should not be confused with Ligurian and Tuscan Vermentino, even if it shares their origins. These wines, in fact, are based on semi-aromatic Vermentino vine , arrived in Italy with the Aragonese.

In Sardinia , Vermentino finds its maximum expression as it prefers a windy, dry and quite warm and sunny climate, typical of Mediterranean coasts . Vermentino has also spread to other areas of Italy: Tuscany (Massa Carrara, the Apuan Alps, Livorno and the Island of Elba) e Liguria .
