Lo Cherry is an absolutely amazing cherry-based liqueur, also excellent cold to cheer up summer evenings. There are many variations of this recipe, but the original requires only one wine: Primitivo !
Cherry: recipe with Primitivo wine
Cherry preparation is very simple. The real secret to obtaining a superlative product is the choice of wine. In fact, it is not enough to use any red wine, it must be Primitivo di Puglia . This wine, with an intense red color, is very full-bodied and powerful, but velvety.
Ingredients
- 500 ml of Primitivo red wine
- 250 g of food alcohol
- 300 g of sugar
- 20 ml of Cherry essence
Preparation

Boil the wine with the sugar for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Let it cool to room temperature and add the alcohol at 95 degrees, the vial of Cherry aroma and mix.

Pour the liqueur into a well-washed and dry bottle, and let it rest for a week or 10 days before enjoying it.
- Serve it at room temperature in winter and fresh from the fridge in summer.
