- Rinse the chestnuts, make an incision with the tip of a knife and place them in a pot of cold water. They must be completely covered.
- Put on the fire and cook for 40 minutes from the boil.
- When cooked, drain the chestnuts, let them cool and peel them without breaking them.
- Put the chestnuts in a bowl and pour the red wine, then cover with the transparent film and leave to macerate for at least an hour before drain and serve. You can also add a few teaspoons of sugar, they'll be even better!
