5 vini bianchi perfetti per la Primavera

5 perfect white wines for Spring

The days are getting longer, the sun is shining and the beautiful season is looming on the horizon with tomatoes, asparagus, radishes, new peas, young green shoots and the first strawberries... which wine to choose to accompany them?

Vegetables and wine

The savory pie with spring vegetables (broad beans, new carrots, snow peas, etc.) will be ideal with a nice white wine that will highlight the vegetal notes of the vegetables. A dry, sapid, fresh white wine , without aging in wood, such as Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay, goes perfectly with this type of rustic cake.

The spring side dishes that often accompany white meats will go wonderfully with light or medium-bodied white wines such as Passerina, Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay .

Spring is also the season for radishes and asparagus , vegetables to be enjoyed from April to June. However, asparagus is difficult to pair with wine due to its astringent taste. In this case, it is best to avoid the tannins of red wines, which do not combine well with the bitterness of asparagus, white wines will be a better choice. A dry and fruity white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc , ensures a successful pairing. You can also use white wine to cook asparagus!

Spring sweets

Strawberries have appeared on the market stalls and therefore on our plates... for example, you can pair your succulent strawberry cake with a sweet and delicate white wine like Zibibbo passito dolce ... you'll see how great it is!
